NAFLD: what your patients need to know | With Prof. William Alazawi

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) a condition where disruptions and dysregulation of lipids in the body causes an excessive build-up of fat in the liver, and is estimated to affect 75% of people with type 2 diabetes. In around 1/5 of cases this steatosis causes chronic inflammation, which can lead to fibrosis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. So what do people with diabetes need to know, and how do we raise awareness? We’re joined by Prof. William Alazawi to discuss these questions.
