Dr. Marwa Assar is a distinguished psychologist, psycho-spiritual educator, and the founder of The H.O.M.E. Institute, which stands for Heart Over Mind & Ego. Dr. Assar holds a B.A. in Psychology from Montclair State University, an Ed.M. in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University, and a Psy.D. in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her doctoral research focused on “An Islamic Psychological Approach to Psychotherapy,” highlighting the contributions of Islamic teachings to psychological wellness and therapy for Muslim clients.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Assar has provided therapy to diverse populations in various settings, including private practice, schools, substance abuse treatment facilities, and county clinics. She currently serves as a psychologist at the Islamic Center of NYU (ICNYU) and is an adjunct faculty member at the Boston Islamic Seminary.
