Wedding season is HERE during this episode of “Nailed It,” entitled “I Do....Hope I Don’t Fail!
Three amateur bakers, Rachel, Ronald and Jay, walk down the aisle, the bakers’ aisle that is, to the Baker’s Choice round, to find out they have to bake wedding band mini cakes in 45 minutes! The one who wasn’t left standing at the altar aka the winner of that round, was Jay, who won a keytar!
On to the Nail It or Fail It round, where they have to bake a Vegas themed wedding cake in only 1 hour and 45 minutes! While all their versions of “edible newlyweds,” leaves much up to the imagination, Jay once again came out on top to win the coveted $10,000! Congratulations, Jay!
Today's show was hosted by Kay Montgomery, Elye Acosta, Eric Jewell, and special guest Patrick Doody!
This episode, “The Big Bake Theory,” takes three novice bakers, Ebony, Sandra and Raymond, back-to-school as all of the competitions are science themed!
They’re first put to the test during the Baker’s Choice round, where not only will they need to bake and decorate beaker cakes, but will also use test tubes to show edible chemical reactions! First in class went to Ebony, who is awarded with a 263 piece baking set and digital countertop confection oven!
For the Nail It or Fail It round, lab assistants aka the competitors’ own children were brought in to help their parents this round! It was a treat to have the kids in the kitchen, although viewers may see one of the kids snacking more than helping their parent in the episode! In the end, it was the teamwork of mother-son duo, Sandra and Seth, who took home the coveted price of $10,000 dollars! Congratulations Sandra and Seth!
With a fun western theme, episode 6 gets guest host Adam Scott! The Contestants have some failed fried doughnuts. We get a surprise guest appearance from "To All the Boys I Loved Before" Lana Condor. The contestants have difficulty knowing what a teaspoon is, and we have a new themed advantage (lassoing), and a fun mechanical bull themed final cake.

“Chariots of Failure” brought us 3 new bakers- Shane Garrahan, a spontaneous personal trainer; Stacey Blannet a medical student who’s great at making chocolate chip cookies; and Stephanie Blannet a therapist ready to face off against her twin sister Stacey. Our host Nicole Byer and “Semi-Pro Competitive Vaulter” Chef Jaques Torres were joined by Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas.
In the Baker’s Choice round, contestants were challenged to make sports medal cookies. The cookies were dipped in white chocolate, decorated with royal icing, and painted with metallic colors of gold, silver, and bronze.
The Nail It or Fail It challenge gave bakers the task of baking an Artistic Swimming cake. The cake was decorated with swimmers made of modeling chocolate and placed in a pool of blue piping gel. The waves on the cake were made with fondant and if that weren’t enough, the cake had to be made to be lit on fire at the top. All of the bakers did their best, but only one came out with a gold trophy and $10,000.

“Indiana Fails and theTemple of Slop” brought us 3 fresh new bakers- Cheri Kelly, a retired grandmother; Caroline Stapleton, a lawyer and soon to be mother of 2; and JJ Woodward, an accountant and cryptozoology/big foot lover. Our host Nicole Byer and “Archeologist of Chocolate” Jaques Torres were joined by returning judge Gemma Stafford, professional baker and cookbook author.
In the Baker’s Choice round, contestants are charged with the task of making chocolate hatching eggs. Each baker had their own set of challenges making hallow chocolate eggs and cake pop figures to go on top.
The Nail It or Fail It challenge came with the simple task of constructing a cake that resembled the Buried Secrets Sphinx. The cake was made of three layers, had white chocolate mummies hidden through out, and was painted with edible gold paint. All of the bakers did their best, but only one came out on top winning $10,000.
How Fly can this episode get? A 90s sitcom intro, boom boxes and Nicole in Poetic Justice braids are a start! This episode starts with a 90s sitcom song and shots of our cast in TV throwback fashion. We have Fortune Feimster as the special guest judge. She brings humor and heart as she seems to find the positive parts of the various fails. The first Bakers Choice round is daunting as the contestants have to recreate boom boxes. These radios are made of cake and ice cream (which they have to make from scratch) and decorate with fondant. The final round sees the competitors creating a “FLY 1990s Cake“ with Funfetti inside. Fortune nicknames Jacque “Dessert Daddy”.
Season 4 opens with our cast basking in the glow of their well earned Nailed It! success-Nicole is being fanned by a hunk and Chef Jacque is demanding more Pina Colada's! They are interrupted by everybody’s favorite production assistant Wes alerting them that they must actually tape a show. The theme of this seasons opener is Literature and Matt Walsh of Veep fame is our guest judge. For the first round, Bakers Choice, the contestants have to make stained glass cookies with royal icing made in the images of Shakespeare and characters. For the final round, the battle is on for a cake made after the classic novel Moby Dick using rice treats, buttercream frosting and modeling chocolate.
