Named entity recognition is a process of identifying and classifying entities in a document, and it is especially challenging in the legal domain due to its rich vocabulary and different use cases. The architecture that has been developed using Pointer Generator Network is able to overcome these challenges which have led to improved performance.
Sagar L. is a Senior Data Scientist at Thomson Reuters Labs in Bangalore, which was set up a few months ago as the first Labs site in India. He works with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of domain experts, designers and engineers. Sagar has a master's degree in Biotechnology Engineering from IIT Madras. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, he worked with the Government of India, led data science initiatives at Nestaway Technologies, and co-founded Life Catalyst Technologies.
