Nance Klehm – New Book “The Soil Keepers”

Listen Later

Nance Klehm‘s work in the world concerns things like soil, sustainability, foraging; the relationship humans have with the rest of nature (since we are part of nature). Nance teaches workshops and classes, and has done such things as work at a disaster site designing and implementing composting toilets, and creating a medical waste disposal system that reduced disease.  Nance teaches a number of different things, among them urban foraging.

The Soil Keepers is Nance Klehm’s new book; a combination of essays, interviews, and occasional poems. It’s an eclectic book which offers a variety of perspectives on soil, from the scientific to the artistic to the agricultural to the divine, and more. There are dozens of interviews with a variety of people who work with soil.  These offer both information and revelation, along with essays by Nance which weave the chapters together.
