On Butterflies of Wisdom today, Best-Selling Author, Win Kelly Charles welcomes Naomi Williams. Naomi was born in Jeannette, PA and lived there until a preteen. A parental job transfer resulted in Naomi’s family being relocated to Evans, GA as a teenager. She is still adapting to southern life, and will always be a Yankee at heart. Naomi is a class of 2000 graduate from Augusta State University, with a Bachelor’s in Health and Physical Education. After several years in the workforce and becoming a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Naomi continued her education and became a 2008 alumnus of Walden University with a Master’s in Public Health. She is employed at a local hospital as a Family Support Coordinator. Educational and professional experiences have served Naomi well, yet it’s her personal experiences that have validated her credentials. She has always been passionate about empowering others to become their best. It was the traumatic birth and the continued arduous responsibility of raising a medically involved and differently-abled child that fuels Naomi’s passion for advocacy. Naomi has been speaking to allied health, medical and nursing students, physicians, residents, educators, parents and community leaders about the connection and interdependence of raising a differently-abled child as a productive member of society.
