I applauded Keyla ( you'll hear me clapping) for holding on to her finished manuscript and waiting until she could afford to hire a professional editor. Most debut authors won't do that, as they want their manuscript out there immediately. Buy Keyla held on to the book until she could afford to get the book polished.
She has one book out called the parallels and again, is holding onto the 2nd completed manuscript of book 2 until she can afford to pay an editor. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives out there. But it's scary to hand over your manuscript to a stranger and hope that they don't over-edit and lose the author's writing style and voice.
