Did you know that Jesus wasn't the only teacher to use parables? When Jesus taught using parables, and he often did, he was using a style of teaching that would have been familiar to many of those listening. One of the first parables we encounter in scripture is Nathan's parable to David in 2 Samuel 12. Nathan's story helps David to see a blindspot in his own life, and moves him in the direction of something new. What could it teach us?
