In 2013, Nation and his wife, Jamie, were living as most 20-somethings. They were figuring out their careers and finding ways to become more involved in the Raleigh community. 

But on April 22, 2013, the Hahns were attacked in their home and Jamie died as a result of her injuries. Nation's life would be forever changed.
