National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week was authorized by President Gerald Ford in 1974. EMS Week is an opportunity to thank and recognize the many volunteer and professional First Responders, EMTs, and Paramedics who provide life-saving care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Kelby Eck, Director of Emergency Services, and Cori Rayevich, EMS Coordinator, discuss the improvements and requirements for EMS, and the opportunities for those who would like to become involved in emergency medicine.
