The topic for this week is nationalism and identity. What ideas lie behind the concept? What expressions does it take and how does it affect peope in today’s world? We discussed the outcome of the Scottish referendum, what nationalism looks like in former Yugoslavia and the Basque country, as well as the identity crisis a person can experience when belonging to more than one nation. We also had anthropologist Tova Höjdestrand with us to discuss what nationalism has to do with gender and sexuality in Russian politics.
