Jim Keller // Mary, the mother of Jesus, sets an example of God’s love for us. In the midst of the Christmas story many know so well—the trip to Bethlehem, the inn that was full, the lodging in the barn, the manger, the swaddling clothes—Mary looked at it all and treasured these things in her heart. Mary’s heart was full of love that night. Her story shows us a life-giving love, a loyal love, and a lasting love. We must remember not just to experience God’s love for us but also to love him in return. We are God’s handiwork, created for a purpose—each one of us. He loves us, and he gives us the power to do what he has planned perfectly for our lives.
