Our first segment has a considerable number of thoughts and points regarding headship, leadership, elders, and how God develops and uses Moses. Also, the idea that Israel is a patriarchal tribal family is explored.  The second segment considers the marriage language of God's promise to Israel and how He views His people!

Why did God choose plural marriage as the foundation of Israel? Does the adversary have a parallel system that is contrary to God's Word? Does 'monogamy-only' benefit the State or God's people?  And, why were Jacob's bones immediately take to the Land for burial, but Joseph's were not?

The 'Joseph Portions' begin and contain significant lessons in leadership, patriarchy, responsibility, and authority.

A deeper dive into the role and responsibilities of a patriarch as well as some hard questions regarding the traditional interpretation of Jacob's marital situation. Is it lawful to have more than one wife? Is polygyny just an Old Testament aberration? What about marrying sisters? Much, much to ponder in these two Torah portions.

A father's blessing and authority in prayer as the priest of the family as well as a deeper look into Rebecca and Jacob's antics to secure the blessing. And, why does Isaac judge be smell?  Is this related to his role as a shadow and type of Messiah?

Concubines, marriage, bride price, etc.  Many very interesting topics opened that will carry forward as we walk through the Torah!

Journey through Torah continues as we understand role of man and learn more of the relationship between man and woman.
