The FDA and the Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets, Inc.have recalled  Natural Grocers Organic Amaranth Grain.  This product has salmonella contamination.  Salmonella produces serious and life-threatening gastroenteritis and systemic infections in the very young, frail elders, and in those with immunosuppression.  The recall product was sold at Natural Grocers’ stores in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
