Nature And Attributes Of God

Nature and attributes:

Eternal: God has always existed. God has no beginning or end. God is from everlasting to everlasting. (Psalm 90:2; I Timothy 1:17)
Self-Existent: God exists within Himself. God has always existed. God is refers to the fact that all things come from God that are created, but God is alone uncreated. He is.
Self-Sufficient: God has no need for anything or anyone for sustainability. God does not need air, food, sleep, water or money to be sustained.
Immutable: God is unchangeable. It is impossible for God to Change. God does not change who He is. God does not change His promises. (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17; Hebrews 6:17-18)
Impassable: God is self-control. God is order. God does everything on purpose. We change the way that we do things based on our emotions. Yes. God is love. God can be grieved. God does these things on purpose. Here is an example: Jesus is going to the cross. Jesus prays to the Father. Let this cup pass from Me, never the less. Your will be done. God the Father loves Jesus the Son. God loves the people of the world that He sent Jesus to die for the people. God was moved by the Son praying, but God was not moved on purpose.
Infinite: God is infinite in time, space, quantity, distance and magnitude. God has no bounds within the confines of His oaths or who God is. The scriptures show God is Infinite in Grace, wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Power, Goodness, mercy and more. (Psalm 147:5)
Incorruptible: God is perfect. God is Holy. God is righteous. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus was born of the incorruptible seed of the Holy Spirit. Jesus came as a man in the likeness of sinful flesh. Jesus had no sin, knew no sin and in Him was no sin. Jesus was tempted at all points without sin. Creation is corruptible, but Jesus as God is incorruptible. (Hebrews 13:8; 4:15; Philippians 2:7; I Peter 1:23)
Good: God is intrinsically good. Goodness is God’s nature. It is God’s goodness that leads mankind to repent. The Hebrew word for Goodness is loving kindness. (Palm 73:1; Romans 2:4)
Love: God is love. The nature of God is Love. God’s love is a sacrificial love. God’s love is unconditional. God’s love is a commitment. (I John 4:16)
Gracious: God is Gracious. God gives us His graciousness even while we don’t deserve it. God sent His Son to die for sin to pour out grace through faith. (I Peter 1:13; I Peter 5:10)
Sovereignty: The term sovereignty is about 500 years old. What can God do? What can God not do? Hebrews 6:17-18 tells us what God can do. God made an oath and a promise. God swore by Himself that God would keep His oath and promise. God cannot change His oath and promise. For it is impossible for God to lie. What can God do? God can only operate according to His word. God cannot break His word. God cannot go outside of His word. God has bound Himself to His word. God limits His sovereignty to His word.
Light: God is Light. God is the source of light. God has a body that is full of light. (I John 1:5)
Life: God is Life. God is the author of life. God gives eternal life to those that put faith in Jesus. (I John 5:12; Romans 6:23)
All-powerful: God is all powerful. God alone is almighty. God can only bring forth the worlds from nothing. God can do anything that does not conflict with the nature or word of God. (Psalm 115:3; Revelation 19:6)
All-knowing: God alone knows everything. God sees the end from the beginning. God knows all things. God does not need to experience things to know them. All things are taking place according to God’s counsel. God knows what we think before we think it. God knows what we are going to say before we say it. There is nothing hidden from His sight. (Psalm 139; Ephesians 1:11; Isaiah 40:14)
All-present: God is everywhere. God’s eyes are in every place.
