Stuart Hall's concept of "Representation" can help us understand the importance of diverse media ownership and the need for alternative narratives in the current media landscape. “Interpretation becomes an essential aspect of the process by which meaning is given and taken. The reader is as important as the writer in the production of meaning” (Hall page 33). As Hall argues, our interpretation of things we discuss represents our understanding of them. If we only consume media from a single echo chamber, we're not seeing the multiple ways to see any situation. Navigating the current media landscape with a healthy mindset requires addressing the monopolistic media landscape on individual, societal, and governmental levels. While individuals can take practical steps for time management and self-control, governmental policies need a change to prevent monopolies; society must promote diverse media ownership, creating a less toxic social media platform. Therefore, a comprehensive approach is required to navigate the media landscape healthily, which involves addressing the codes of society, challenges faced by smaller media outlets, and governmental policies. - Excerpt from Conclusion.
