Navigating the Complexities of Change with Manuel Mazza

Listen Later

An expert in navigating the complexities of change, Manuel Mazza is a mechanical engineer by education, known for his leadership in the oil and gas sector and his expertise in procurement processes. Manuel is originally from Italy and has traveled the globe throughout his professional career, including time in Germany, France, China, Poland, and Kazakhstan. Manuel applies all of his life experiences and his belief that “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” as he pursues his most recent professional focus: coaching.

Manuel joins me today to share the many pivot points along his professional journey, and what differentiated Manuel as an engineer over the course of his career. He discusses his work in different locations around the globe and the importance of finding a community of people who understand you wherever you go and build you up. Manuel also highlights the lessons we can only see in hindsight and how to approach and manage fear and anxiety effectively.

“If you’re there and you’re consciously doing what you know you can do, then things will work out well.” - Manuel Mazza

Our Favorite Quotes:

  • “It is fear of not knowing what’s next, not knowing what it will look like. When you embark on an entirely new experience, you wish to know it all already. You wish to know it’s going to be good. You wish to know everything is going to be great and be perfect. You just don’t know it, though.” - Manuel Mazza
  • “If I look back, I said ‘yes’ quite a few times before I was ready, or before I knew what ‘yes’ would mean in the near future. I just dived in, and that has regularly opened up really amazing experiences.” - Manuel Mazza
