Question to Tamara Barringer and Howard Lee – In 2018 a poll showed that 74 percent of those surveyed supported bail reform and 73 percent want to limit the length of time a defendant not accused of a serious violent crime can be held because they are unable to pay bail. Is it time North Carolina reformed our bail laws? If so, what recommendations would you make?
