NCCIH Webinar - Two Spirit! Let’s Hear It! Presentation with Dr. Sarah Hunt

In this webinar, Dr. Sarah Hunt will provide an introduction to the health of Two-Spirit people. First, the diversity of meanings ascribed to Two-Spirit will be discussed, as a term used to describe an array of Indigenous identities and expressions of gender and sexuality. Within a social determinants framework, an overview of the impacts of colonization will be provided as a key component of understanding the health of Two-Spirit people. A strengths-based approach will be used to present an array of practical measures health practitioners, policy makers, and researchers can use to foster Two-Spirit health. The webinar will complement the NCCIH publication "An Introduction to the Health of Two-Spirit People: Historical, contemporary and emergent issues".

Webinaire du CCNSA – La bispiritualité : Parlons-en!

Mme Hunt présentera une introduction à la santé des personnes bispirituelles. On discutera d'abord de la diversité des sens attribués au terme « bispirituel », utilisé pour décrire un éventail d'identités autochtones et d'expressions de genre et de la sexualité. À l'intérieur d'un cadre de déterminants sociaux, on fournira un aperçu des répercussions de la colonisation comme composante clé pour comprendre la santé des personnes bispirituelles. On utilisera une approche axée sur les points forts pour présenter un éventail de mesures que les professionnels de la santé, les décideurs et les chercheurs peuvent utiliser pour promouvoir la santé des personnes bispirituelles. Le webinaire sert de complément à la publication du CCNSA « Une introduction à la santé des personnes bispirituelles : Questions historiques, contemporaines et émergentes ». Le webinaire est en anglais seulement.
