Provincial Week is an initiative hosted by the National Council of Provinces, as a follow-up from Local Government Week last month. This week will consist of visits to 27 municipalities which repeatedly received poor audit reports. Visits will include discussing specific plans to improve financial management and governance in these municipalities.

The week will focus on three major areas involving municipalities: (1) key interventions to improve the financial state of municipalities (Tuesday, 27 October), Governance challenges (Wednesday 28 October) and the State of service delivery (Thursday 29 October). The last session, on Friday 30 October, will reflect on outcomes of these three sessions.
