Having been a Mechanical Engineer working for a Paper Mill in Northern Minnesota, Derek supported his family by becoming a stay-at-home-dad, which led him to find a passion for coding and software development.

He is now a Front End Developer working at The Nerdery, in Bloomington, MN, where he builds web based applications.

Derek joins the show to talk about his role as an Engineer, his family and his journey into Development.
