Written in 1841, Nearer My God to Thee, has been a favorite hymn since it was first introduced in London's, South Place Unitarian Church. Throughout the years it has become a source of encouragement to people in many different and difficult circumstances. 
Today we look at the history and the associated stories that have been attached to this great song of the church.
