Publisher's Summary:
He's mountain-tough. She's city-smart. The sparks are about to fly.
Only the most resilient of souls could breathe new life into an all-but-forgotten town nestled in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains - but what they get in return might be worth the heartache it takes to make it happen.
Gracely, Colorado was once a booming mining town. No one knows that better than Brandon Evans. His father's company kept the town thriving for years - until Brandon threatened to expose his illegal practices and drove him away. Everyone blames Brandon and his brother for turning Gracely into a ghost town - but the tenacious residents cling to a long-held legend about the land's healing powers. And Brandon has a plan to spin that legend into reality.
Lilly Preston took a leap of faith and moved to Gracely a year ago to save her nephew from an abusive situation. She would do anything for him, even sacrifice her glamorous job. Reluctantly, the former PR hot shot takes a job at the ruggedly handsome Evans brothers' Mile High Adventures, a company offering restorative Rocky Mountain vacations.
Brandon thinks PR is pointless, and Lilly knows less than nothing about the outdoors. Which is exactly why they need each other - in ways neither ever imagined.
Critic Reviews:
"Sharp, funny, and sinfully sexy - Nicole Helm is my favorite new author!" (Maisey Yates, New York Times best-selling author)

Too much repetition
Brandon Evans feels he has to redeem his family by revitalizing the town of Gracely, Colorado. A younger Brandon had turned his father in for poor and illegal mining practices which in turn basically shut down the once booming town. He and his brother and a partner have started Mile High Adventures and Brandon desperately wants it to succeed so that the town can once again flourish. Lilly Preston moved to Gracely to support her sister and young nephew who have escaped an abusive husband/father. She is a public relations master and Will, Brandon's brother, and Sam their silent partner, hire Lilly on to help them not only promote the business, but to turn the town's animosity towards them into faith.
I liked the author's writing and the premise of the story, but I didn't think the story was fleshed out that well. You read early on that the town has a legend about the land's healing powers, but it isn't in my opinion explained well or a theme that is smoothly carried through the book. Towards the end of the book we find out the whole story of Brandon and Lilly's separate angsts. I felt like the author was expecting these revelations to be a big thing, but the information could have been revealed at any point in the book. It was truly no big deal as enough hints were dropped that we really didn't need the last piece of the puzzle to get "it." Thirdly I got really really really really tired of Brandon and Lilly's moaning about their pasts and why they had the issues they had. I think if you had cut out the (p.211) "this is not yours to have," or (p.258) "She didn't want manipulations" or (p117-118) "That way of handling things that didn't give anyone around them the idea they were being handled" the book could have lost about a third of the story and been just fine. I just picked these three examples after flipping open the book five times.
