In this lesson, I will introduce you how to make negative statement of X is Y.

Affirmative:

さとうさん　は　がくせい　です。

Negative:

さとうさん　は　がくせい　ではありません。

Affirmative:

わたし　の　はは　は　きょうし　です。

Negative:

わたし　の　はは　は　きょうし　ではありません。

*ではありません can be じゃありません as well. じゃ is contraction of では. じゃ cannot be used for formal writing but for conversation.

*ありません can be replaced with ないです
