In Nehemiah 4, we see how Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem respond to increasing external threats. The image of the people bravely continuing the work of building the wall while under the threat of attack - armed with sword and trowel - is inspiring, but is it applicable? While we may not be able to mimic how Nehemiah and the people defended themselves, we can learn much from what they saw to be worth defending and why.
