Nehemiah: Strengthen Our Hands
In Nehemiah 6, the walls of Jerusalem are nearly complete, but opposition intensifies. Nehemiah faces distraction, deception, and intimidation from his enemies — yet through prayer, integrity, and perseverance, he remains steadfast in God’s mission. In this message, we here what it looks like to face spiritual resistance with courage and faith, reminding us that the real battle is not against people, but against spiritual forces that seek to steal, kill, and destroy.
As Nehemiah prays, “Lord, strengthen my hands,” we are reminded that the strength to endure and finish the work God has called us to doesn’t come from us — it comes from Him. Pastor Brian offers five practical principles from Nehemiah’s example for standing firm in the face of opposition and staying faithful to the mission of Jesus. Five Principles for Facing Opposition:
Do not get distracted from the mission God has given.
Declare the truth to combat lies and gossip.
Pray the opposite of the enemy’s plot.
Meet intimidation with courage and integrity.
Give it all to God and finish the work.
