Have you ever had a bad neighbor or neighbors? Yeah, me too. You may think of a neighbor as one that lives next to you or in your neighborhood. Jesus radically redefined the definition of neighbor as we might think about it today. There was a neighbor who helped someone in need, a Samaritan, but by helping the one in need, they both became neighbors. So neighbors are not just one that helps but the one being helped. Jesus defined a neighbor as someone who, maybe by their own fault, fell into trouble or need. Maybe by their own fault didn’t deserve to be helped. Maybe by their own fault got into a mess.
