When Nelly was eight years old, she was taken from her home country of El Salvador and placed in the care of her mother – a complete stranger to her – in the United States. Nelly endured years of physical and sexual abuse before being placed in the foster care system. She now works in marriage and family therapy and is working towards her spiritual coaching career.
