Once you have accepted Christ you need to start developing a relationship with God.  This does not mean reciting prayers or behaving well. A relationship involves communication and time spent between 2 people.  Most people think we can’t hear from God and that it is something strange and mystical. But you have spiritual ears and can have a relationship and communication with God. Hearing from God will benefit and impact your life in a way you could have never imagined.
