Claire takes Monte and Kaliis to visit Nordica Street Community Farm in Springfield, where they talk to farmers Anne Richmond and Todd Crosset and some of their volunteers and supporters about: 

  • How racial justice is inseparable from their work on the farm
  • Restoring a clear-cut, soil-striped site into a lush urban farm, and how urban farms support so many different kinds of welling in their community
  • Synergy with other Springfield farms, including Gardening the Community: “This farm never would have happened without GTC,” explains Anne. “The young people and the mentors I had (while working there) taught me pretty much everything I know and gave me the courage to try.”

    • Nordica Street Community Farm’s farm stand is open Wednesdays 1 – 6pm beginning June 18 through the end of October. Learn more about what you’ll find here.
