Netflix Originals Releasing This Week Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 (September 25) - Excludes U.S., Canada Netflix Exclusive Series with CBS Television - 15 episodesNot in the U.S. Set ten years before the original series, the crew of the USS Discovery explores new worlds and civilizations, while incorporating contemporary themes. The season-long story line covers an event in Star Trek history that's been mentioned but not seen. Jason Isaacs will play Captain Lorca with Sonequa Martin-Green playing first lieutenant Michael Burnham. Michelle Yeoh will play the captain of an ally ship, Philippa Georgiou. Rainn Wilson stars as Harry Mudd, the charismatic conman and intergalactic criminal first introduced in the original Star Trek television series. Netflix's payment to CBS for distribution was enough to fund the entire series. Hughley, Tracy Morgan and Sheryl Underwood. This special celebrates the impact and legacy of the long-running comedy series with surprise guests, tributes and performances.
