그녀는 그녀의 아이들을 찾았지만

She sought her children,

그들은 어디에서도 찾을 수 없었습니다.

but they were nowhere to be found.

그녀는 그들의 이름을 차례로 불렀습니다.

She called them one after another by name,

그러나 아무도 대답하지 않았죠.

but no one answered.

마침내 그녀가 막내의 이름을 불렀을 때

At last, when she came to the youngest,

연약한 목소리가 울며

a soft voice cried,

사랑하는 울엄마, 저는 벽시계 안에 있어요.

dear mother, I am in the clock-case.

그녀는 아이를 꺼냈고

She took the kid out,

그 아이는 그녀에게 늑대가 왔었다고 말했고

and it told her that the wolf had come

그들 모두가 잡아먹혔다고 했습니다.

and had eaten all the others.

우리는 상상할 수 있을 것입니다.

Then you may imagine

얼마나 그녀가 그녀의 불쌍한 아이들을 위해 눈물을 흘렸을지요.

how she wept over her poor children.
