Don’t underestimate the importance that sleep has on your overall health. Getting proper rest in the day will allow your body to replenish energy and make you more focused. Kevin Bennett discusses the importance of sleep with our Nurse Practitioner in OKC, Jessica Kearney. In this episode you’ll learn actionable steps to improve your sleep, what inadequate sleep can lead to, and healthy habits to instill in your life daily. 

Our brains are constantly stimulated throughout the day and can wear out over time. Giving your brain a break is crucial with it’s efforts to rid your body of  waste. It’s important to refrain from eating, and consuming blue lighting for a considerable time before bed. Treating your bed as a place of rest as opposed to  a sanctuary of endless thoughts. Train your body to have a healthy consistent circadian rhythm.

Inadequate sleep can lead to degenerative diseases later in life. Not getting the recommended 7-9 hours per night will decrease the brains ability to act in it’s sharpest form and rid the waste that can be harmful down the road.

Instill healthy habits in your life that promote optimal rest. Stretch before bed, wear nasal strips or dilators for adequate nasal breathing. Do the things that you should do to be the best you.
