Never Abandoned; Never Forsaken (Hebrews 13:1-7)
August 12, 2018
Please turn in your Bibles to Hebrews 13:1-7
“…because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5b
V 1. Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.
“Let brotherly love continue.” (KJV)
Summit Mission: One Lord, One Team, One Mission:
V 2: Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
V 3: Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
V 4: Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
V 5: Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So, we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.”
We Must Have Assurance?
“This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true
God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
1 John 5:13-15
