The present reigning morality is that of pragmatism. 'Do whatever it takes to accomplish your determined goal or outcome.' If what you do helps you achieve your desire then it was good and wise. These final verses of Romans 12 are a direct rebuke of the current thinking in our culture. Once again you are brought face to face with the antithesis of Christian life to the world. Ever had evil done to you- Did you want to return evil, to get even- The Holy Spirit says you must not do so.
