Glenda Richardson (00:00): I neglected to tell you about this small piece that was hiding in the corner here. But it is a piece that is representative of the kind of work I do to the various differing fabrics, different textures. Sometimes I do things to, like I say, please myself. But also I know my demographic and I can't help for it to come out when I do my work.
(00:31): And so most of this is African oriented, but you will see also touches of some embroidery, and who knows where that came from, or touches of rhinestones, and that came from a friend who makes clothes for church ladies and had some rhinestoney stuff left. So these are to delight myself.
(00:55): But I always like to put a message in, and this is called "Never Wrong." There's a piece of fabric that came from another piece I was working on and I didn't use. And I often use proverbs in my pieces, and there's one proverb that says, "She who tells the truth is never wrong," and it's an African proverb. And so I slid that into here, a little message, never wrong. And so that's what this piece is generally about. It's to delight you, but it's also most of my pieces have a message in it. And I've done a number of pieces that have this proverb in it in different formats and different ways, and I cannot keep them in my house. There's always a woman that needs to tell somebody this, so that's what this piece is about.
