Oklahomas Roosevelt Bridge Replacement: Innovative Approach to Speed Up ProjectThe Oklahoma Department of Transportation has accelerated plans to replace the eighty-year-old Roosevelt Bridge over Lake Texoma, addressing concerns about its condition and traffic capacity. The bridge, serving eight thousand vehicles daily, will be replaced using a Modified Progressive Design Build method, involving three design-build teams: Manhattan Road and Bridge Company, Walsh Construction Company, and Zachry Construction Corporation and Traylor Brothers Incorporated. This collaborative approach aims to foster innovation and expedite the project, originally scheduled for 2029 but now prioritized due to recent flooding events. The new bridge will last seventy-five years and be more resilient to severe weather.
