New Christians need to understand that what makes someone grin when no one else is around is a good sign of what they care about. In our culture, people laugh at failure, celebrate when someone falls, and think that exposing someone is "justice." But Paul's comments are troubling because they say that love doesn't boast in wrongdoing but in the truth. Agape love doesn't celebrate the things that hurt people; it celebrates the things that bring them back together.
