The glove industry in Fulton County was explored in displays and programs called 2019 the Year of the Glove.  Fulton County historian Samantha Hall-Saladino, a Gloversville native, discusses this project.

Samantha Hall-Saladino is the Executive Director of the Fulton County Historical Society in Gloversville and serves as the Fulton County Historian. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in History and English from Russell Sage College and a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of New Hampshire. Over the past decade, Samantha has worked with museums across the Capital Region and along the seacoast of New Hampshire, including Strawbery Banke, the American Independence Museum, and the Albany County Historical Association at Ten Broeck Mansion. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Public Historians of NYS (APHNYS) and the Sacandaga Valley Arts Network (SVAN).

And after a two year hiatus, we've done it.  We've resurrected our most popular HAL event, Ghosts of the Past.  This year's guided walking evening tours of Green Hill cemetery to meet some of its "permanent residents" and hear their stories and what their Amsterdam was like will be held this Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15, 2022

a moisture laden frontal system will approach from the west and
move across the area, bringing periods of rain Thursday into
Thursday night, with locally heavy rain expected. Fair weather
returns Friday into Saturday, along with seasonably cool
temperatures.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. East wind around 6 mph.

Showers, mainly after 1pm. High near 67. Southeast wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
