Sunday, July 12, 2026 - What if the number 666 wasn’t meant to predict some future figure, but was actually a coded reference to someone living during the time Revelation was written?

Revelation was written using symbolic and coded language during a period of intense persecution. One theory is that the author used the Hebrew alphabet to hide the name of the Roman Emperor Nero in plain sight.

When Nero’s name is written using Hebrew letters and their numerical values are added together, the result is 666.

But there’s an even more interesting piece of evidence: some of the oldest manuscripts of Revelation give the number as 616, not 666. One of these is Papyrus 115.

So why do some manuscripts say 666 and others 616? And could both numbers actually point to Nero?
