Philemon 1-25
● This is a letter from Paul to his friend and ministry
partner Philemon
● In this letter Paul makes a request for
reconciliation between his two “sons in the faith”
● It is clear that Onesimus had wronged, cheated, or
even stolen from Philemon in the past while he
was a slave in his home.
● It is also clear that Onesimus is not the same
person he used to be and has spent an extended
amount of time learning and helping the apostle
Paul.
● Paul says he is totally up for keeping Onisimus to
himself but thought that would be wrong of
him...he was open to the idea of Philemon willingly
allowing Onisimus to stay with Paul but wanted
him to make that decision on his own.
