Surf's up, beach lovers! As we wrap up the 2024 beach forecast season, we've got some waves and weather to keep you in the know.
From Sandy Hook to Cape May, the Jersey Shore is serving up a moderate rip current risk today. So surfers and swimmers, stay alert and watch those undertows. The surf is looking consistent with 2 to 3 foot waves rolling in across the coastline.
Winds are blowing steady from the northeast around 15 to 20 miles per hour, which means slightly choppy conditions but nothing too wild. Water temperatures are hovering in the mid to upper 60s - definitely wetsuit weather for those hardcore swimmers and surfers.
Each coastal zone is seeing mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain, particularly down in Atlantic City and Cape May. Temperatures will peak in the upper 60s to lower 70s, making for a crisp autumn beach day. The UV index is moderate, so don't forget some sunscreen if you're planning to catch some rays.
Tide schedules are looking pretty standard. Expect high tides in the early morning hours between 6:25 and 7:17 AM, with corresponding low tides around midday. Sunrise will be around 6:50 AM, with sunset closing out the day at approximately 6:45 PM.
