Surf's up, beach lovers! As we wrap up the 2024 beach forecast season, we've got some solid conditions brewing along the Jersey Shore and Delaware coast.
Heads up wave riders - we're looking at a moderate rip current risk across all zones, so stay alert out there. The surf's serving up a consistent 2 to 3 foot swell with northeast winds blowing around 15 to 20 miles per hour. Not exactly epic conditions, but definitely rideable.
Water temperatures are hovering in the upper 60s to lower 70s - wetsuit optional but recommended. The day's looking mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain, especially down in Atlantic City and Cape May. Temperatures will climb into the lower 70s, making for a comfortable beach hang.
UV index is moderate, so grab your sunscreen and shades. Sunrise kicks off around 6:50 AM, with sunset painting the sky around 6:45 PM - plenty of daylight to catch some waves or work on your tan.
Tide schedules are looking pretty consistent across the board. Belmar, Barnegat, Atlantic City, Cape May, and Rehoboth Beach all have morning high tides between 6:25 and 7:17 AM, with low tides dropping around midday.
One crucial note for all you ocean enthusiasts - this is the final surf zone forecast of the season. Tuesday, October 1st marks the official closeout. So whether you're a hardcore surfer or just a beach bum, make these last moments count.
Stay safe, respect the ocean, and catch those waves while you can!
