Jesus said the last shall be first, and the first shall be last. Yet, in Mark 10, the disciples are only concerned with who will sit beside him in the kingdom of heaven. These debates around status permeate our society to this day, and the scripture causes us to examine the dark side of our own ambitions. Jesus gives us a new way of engaging the world: an upside-down kingdom approach.
