In late December 2025, U.S. Representative Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) filed a federal lawsuit to remove Donald Trump's name from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The legal challenge follows a controversial vote by the center's board of trustees—largely appointed by Trump—to rename the facility the "Trump-Kennedy Center".
