God creates a succession plan for when Moses dies. Here we see that God prepares Joshua for this very task. We won't be reading the final 3 chapters of Deuteronomy but in them you'll see blessings Moses speaks over the tribes and then his final blessing and death. All in all God is in charge and leads his people forward.
