The magic of metaphors. It’s a graceful way to relate, land a message and connect. We all have our favorites, areas that map to our lives. For me the magic trio is ice hockey, dogs, and music (specifically classical and jazz). Since hockey season is now formally over (another hearty HUZZAH for the Vegas Golden Knights on their Stanley Cup Championship), internet algorithms have shifted and are feeding me all kinds of dog and music content. So given the idea that came up for me today I’m wondering how long before gardening content shows up. Because this week’s episode gets to the root of the matter, or more aptly said, is about rooting out old stuff. You can try to cover it over, you can try to do a superficial fix - that doesn’t work. There are drastic measures to take - involving deeply toxic chemicals - with short term gain that deliver serious long term problems.  For a long-term solution that doesn’t create other issues, it takes time and effort and ongoing effort to keep things clear. So roll up your sleeves and get ready to get your hands dirty.
