Is it the heat or is it the ADHD?

Somehow, among many tangents including a discussion of Mystic South plans (or lack thereof), Looney Tunes, agrimony, and popcorn (Gradh is a fan), we attempt to outline a DIY Solstice ceremony for you.

If you're a neurospicy pagan, you'll probably understand.

Or you could just log into YouTube and watch it live at Stonehenge.

Happy Summer Solstice!

“Just start it and get it done.”

Cecilia interviews Dave Gaddy, the Weathered Wiseman, a Southern Male Wytch (he explains the spelling in the episode) and author.

He shares his wisdom on the freedom of the magical path, the importance of boundaries, and how to pick yourself up and deal with the current difficult times. We also talk about writing, creating spells, and magical paths.

Dave's (auto)biography (lifted from the 'zon): "I am a southern male wytch, deep fried and dirt grown. Growing up in this unique blend of culture and magick has made me who I am today. Just as the South is known for its rich flavors and hospitality, I’ve found a deep richness in the world of wytchcraft, where intuition, nature, and spirituality intertwine. Like the secret recipe for a beloved dish, my path as a wytch is my own personal journey, filled with family traditions and the magick of the land. So, I embrace who I am, rooted in my heritage and the legacy of those before me."

Cecilia and Gradh catch up on their spring and their gardening efforts. Yes, someone has apple trees and gets philosophical about them.

We also talk about Beltane traditions and rituals (fire!), and Cecilia reveals why she left her online coven.

Do you have thoughts? Please drop us a message via the link above.

Explicit tag due to what apple trees transform.

P.S. We have ADHD and keep forgetting to ask you to subscribe and review, but it would be awesome if you could. Thanks!

Brew yourself a cup of lemon balm tea or take some of Cecilia's very strong tincture and settle in. We talk about the progress we made in 2025 including Cecilia growing stuff and Gradh going shopping. We also talk about the in-person gatherings we're planning to attend, Gradh gives us an earworm, and Cecilia gives everyone a challenge to get out of their comfort zone.

Gradh and Cecilia talk about the element of Earth and how they each work with it... and may be addicted to aspects of it.

Earth Spell for Resistance:

Be outside, if possible, barefoot on the ground if that’s accessible to you during a time that’s harmonizing. Find a stone you resonate with. A regular rock from the ground is fine.

Hold your stone in your dominant hand. Breathe in and out three times and send energy to whichever Earth-healing intention inspires you.

Examples: earth fortification, forest regrowth, peace and cooperation between humanity and earth.

Note: Alas, Mystic South has passed, but we plan to go next year.

After a long hiatus due to travel, we're back with a couple of episodes we recorded in the spring.

Here's our deep dive on Air.

Spell for resistance: When feeling the breeze, consider how you can uplift the voices of those who have been suppressed. Also ask the element of Air to empower the voices of those with power and privilege so they’ll speak out against injustice when they see it.

Persistence in Resistance Spell:

In a spray bottle, place purifying herbs or crystals of your choice (listen to episode for suggestions), salt, water, and a little bit of high-proof alcohol to discourage mold and bacterial growth.

Infuse this water with intention, and spray it on yourself or around the room.

Cecilia and Gradh catch up after their long hiatus and discuss the element of fire, how they engaged with it before stepping on to their respective paths, and how they employ it in their current practices.

Books mentioned:

Laura Tempest Zakroff's Anatomy of a Witch: A Map to the Magical Body (about the three cauldrons)

The Cry of the Deer: Meditations on the Hymn of St. Patrick by David Adam

Boundary/Light in the Darkness Spell:

Mentally and spiritually draw a caim (circle) of light around you. Extend it as far as you're comfortable.

Hold a lit candle or imagine that you are (fire safety first, people!) and picture yourself as a force for good. This can be positive connection or imagining that you're a light of hope in the darkness. Ask your deities, guides, etc. for the next most effective action to bring good into the world.

Once you have a good idea of what they want you to do, thank them and dispel the circle. Act within your means on whatever guidance they give you.

So mote it be.

Cecilia and Gràdh tackle the big questions like, how do you celebrate Samhain when you're in the middle of a major move? Should you eat the tails of random critters in the woods? Did  Gràdh have an imaginary friend or phantom? And, did Cecilia cuss out a ghost?

So sorry! The tech gremlins played a Samhain trick on us... This is the correct episode.

We recorded this episode in July, and then it got pushed behind the Mabon one so we could get that one out before the holiday.

And then there was some weather, Gradh is in the process of a major move, and Cecilia has been traveling and starting up her writing program. This made for a delayed release.

Plus, this seems a good week to bring some sanity to the world.
