Good morning, weather watchers! This is your weekend weather update for the Gretna area in Louisiana.
Hold onto your jackets because we're in for a chilly ride! We've got a Winter Storm Watch and Cold Weather Advisory in effect, so let's break down what's coming our way.
Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping to a brisk 42 degrees. Winds will be whipping from the northwest at around 15 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching 30 miles per hour. It's definitely a night for warm socks and hot cocoa!
Sunday will bring some sunshine, with temperatures barely reaching 47 degrees. That north wind will continue to remind us it's winter, blowing around 15 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
Sunday night gets even colder. We're talking a low of 27 degrees, with wind chill values making it feel like a frigid 16 degrees. Pack those extra layers!
Martin Luther King Day will be sunny but chilly, with highs struggling to hit 39 degrees. Wind chill will stick around 16 degrees, so dress like an onion and layer up!
The real excitement comes Tuesday. We're looking at a 90 percent chance of snow showers, possibly mixing with rain. Temperatures will hover near 34 degrees with north winds around 15 miles per hour.
As we move through the week, expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions with temperatures gradually climbing from the low 30s to mid 40s by the weekend.
