Good morning, weather watchers! We've got a soggy weekend ahead here in the Gretna area of Louisiana, so grab your umbrellas and raincoats.
Overnight, expect showers with temperatures holding steady around 49 degrees. The east winds will be blowing between 5 to 10 miles per hour, and there's an 80 percent chance of precipitation. We're looking at about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain.
Sunday is going to be wet and wild! Showers will continue, with thunderstorms rolling in after 3 in the afternoon. Some of these storms might bring heavy rainfall. Temperatures will climb to near 57 degrees with east winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour and gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Expect between 1 and 2 inches of rain - so definitely not a day for outdoor picnics!
Sunday night keeps things damp with a 50 percent chance of showers before midnight. We'll see cloudy skies and temperatures dropping to around 49 degrees.
Monday starts with some patchy fog in the morning, but then clears up to become mostly sunny with a high near 62 degrees. The week ahead looks progressively nicer with mostly sunny skies and temperatures gradually warming up.
By Wednesday, we're looking at a sunny day with temperatures reaching 72 degrees, and by Saturday, we'll hit a pleasant 71 degrees.
